This door knob has an unsprung mechanism and available as mortice and rim version, it comes with a detachable rose plate can be used with either a tubular latch, mortice sash lock, bathroom mortice lock or rim lock. As the unsprung door knobs require less effort to rotate it provides a smooth and effortless operation, making it easy to open and close your doors.  The rose plates are loose allowing for one to be removed and the knobs are then secured onto the threaded spindle using a grub screw.
